“Poetry” Reading
As you no doubt know, Shalampax has not had a recognized poet since the 1997 death of our little, beloved little-beloved poet, Speckofdust.
Stapleinforehead tried to rectify this deficiency last year when he published his four-page collection of “poems,” Visions of Infinite Dross. Not being able to afford professional printing, Stapleinforehead hand-copied his poetry book in crayon as he is not allowed to possess anything sharper than that.
Despite offering to pay five dollars to anyone who took a copy off his hands, Stapleinforehead could rid himself of only four copies of Visions of Infinite Dross.
Much to everyone’s regret, Stapleinforehead is not one to give up easily. He recently released another book of “poetry,” Pus-Filled Elysian Dreams. This year’s effort is an ambitious eight pages.
Despite the death threats that followed the poetry reading that Stapleinforehead held to promote Visions of Infinite Dross, he will again be staging a reading to promote his new book. This free event will be held next Friday at 7:00 p.m. in Meeting Hall 2B.
Everyone who attends will receive a free copy of Pus-Filled Elysian Dreams. In addition, a complimentary, sumptuous meal with wine and champagne will be served after the reading.
Stapleinforehead would like to assure everyone that he has learned much from the disastrous poetry reading that accompanied his launch of Visions of Infinite Dross. This year, he will be handing out free doses of extra-strength anti-depressants and analgesics at the door as people enter.
Stapleinforehead’s event notice warns that “seating is limited.” Yeah, right.
