Happy Mothers’ Day

Today is Mothers’ Day in Shalampax. As in many countries around the world, Shalampaxians reflect today on everything that their mothers have done for them.

Shalampaxians are often perceived as heartless. That may be a valid accusation throughout most of the year, but it’s definitely not true on Mothers’ Day.

In some countries, people often get by with a superficial offering on this day. They might give their mothers a greeting card or some flowers and leave it at that. In those countries, moms consider themselves lucky if they get breakfast in bed. And, when adult children move to another city, a phone call may be the most a mother can hope for—if that.

Those empty gestures don’t suffice here in Shalampax.

Here, if our mother is still alive, a call to our lawyer is obligatory in preparation for Mothers’ Day. By tradition, the maternal portions of the lawsuits that virtually all of us have filed against our mothers and fathers for the neglect, pain and suffering that Shalampaxian parents invariably inflict on their children are held in abeyance for the 24 hours of Mothers’ Day. That’s just the kind of loving people we are.

Happy Mothers’ Day. Call your lawyer.

The Shalampax courts must be horribly clogged if all denizens have lawsuits pending against their parents. Do any of these cases actually come to trial? Wait a minute – does Shalampax actually have judge(s) and court(s)?

@David: Actually, we use a “Magic 8-Ball” to decide all court cases. But, yes, there is a long wait to get to use the Magic 8-Ball.

Out of curiosity, how many times are Shalampaxians allowed to sue their mother?

@app103: That depends on how successful each suit is and how much money their mother had to start.

This is my first time on your site so I had to read the post a couple of time. I don’t know what’s going on here but I think I like it.

@LLnL: I can understand your confusion. If you don’t know anything about Shalampax or Shalampaxians this blog won’t make a lot of sense to you. I suggest you first browse through the official site of Shalampax (there’s a link in the sidebar to the right) and then read through some of the earlier posts (this blog is only a little more than a month old).

There are shortcuts to your education on Shalampax. For example, sending us an exceptionally large bribe might induce us to send you a brief synopsis of the information on the official Shalampax site and here. I’m not making any promises, but why don’t you send us a large bribe and see what happens?
