Anyone There?
Is anyone out there? Our blog statistics tell us that a number of people are visiting Shalampax Speaks, but the statistics can’t tell us if you’re actually bothering to read our wonderful words.
Only a few of you have commented our posts. (You know who you are. Thanks!) As a result, we have no idea if the rest of you are enjoying, or even reading, what we’ve written here.
As a rule, Shalampaxians are among the most lazy people in the world. The authors at Shalampax Speaks are not exceptions to that rule. It takes a lot of hard work (any work is hard work to a Shalampaxian) to turn out our powerful prose. If nobody appreciates it, we might be able to talk the people who are forcing us to write this blog into letting us stop.
So, here’s what I’m asking of you:
- If you like this blog and want us to continue doing what we are doing, please add a comment to this post to let us know.
- If you don’t like it and think we should stop writing it, or you don’t give a damn whether we stop writing it or not, please add a comment to this post to let us know.
- If you don’t like it now, but you would like it if we used this blog to give you information about Shalampax and/or Shalampaxians that we aren’t currently providing, please add a comment to this post letting us know what you want to know and in what style you’d like us to provide that information to you.
- If you like Shalampax Speaks, but think there’s a way we can make it even better, please add a comment to let us know how we can improve it.
In short, please add a comment to this post and give us your thoughts, whatever they may be, about Shalampax Speaks.
One exception to the above request: If you would like us to use this blog to distribute pictures of naked Shalampaxians, please keep that information to yourself. You are obviously an extremely sick individual. Either that or you don’t have the slightest idea of what Shalampaxians look like naked. Trust me; it’s not a pretty picture.
Of course, if no one is reading this, then, never mind.

Yeah, I am here… and I hear. I am an EntreCard dropper. But I do a little more than drop. I peruse and browse for something that catches my eye. When I find it, I look at it closer… just like this post – Anyone There? The title caught my eye, so I read on.
Keep up the good work…
@Oscar Gecko: Thanks for making your presence known. It’s nice to know that someone read it. So, did you like it or, when you speak of our “good work,” are you just talking about our ability to sucker you into reading it?
I click on the link every time my rss feed list tells me there is something new from Shalampax. Sometimes I even comment. I’m always pleased to learn about new and interesting denizens of your island.
So get cracking on your next message.
btw – why would people keep visiting if they are not reading your words? It is not like there are interesting pictures or such as.
@David: Hi David! You were one of the people I was thinking of when I said that only a few people comment here. Thanks for that!
Why would people keep coming if they’re not reading? Obviously you’re not familiar with the wonderful world of EntreCard. Bloggers who are members of EntreCard get credits for “dropping” (clicking the link under the ad delivered by EntreCard) on EntreCard members’ blogs. Those credits can be used to buy ads in the EntreCard space on other blogs. So, EntreCard members could be surfing to our wonderful blog, “dropping” and not reading a word.
I’m an extremely sick individual, but that doesn’t mean I can’t read!
@HowToSpotACanadian: I hope you didn’t think that I was in any way implying that there is anything wrong with sick individuals! Not at all. In fact, we Shalampaxians are very fond of sick individuals. It is a common human trait to feel the most comfortable with people who are most like yourself. Welcome!
Keep writing. I don’t read every time I “drop” by but I enjoy the words I read when something catches my eye.
I notice that you post every day which is great determination but I’ve found that when I push to post every day it becomes so much harder to come up with unique and meaningful words. I feel if I force a post just so that day has one, my posts in turn struggle. I’m not saying you’re posts are struggling, I just admitted to not reading them all, but it’s just a trend that I’ve noticed.
I also think that since most people are a little lazy (me included), a lot probably just dropping by for the credit, a new post every day may be a little overwhelming and only the most dedicated are going to take the time to read a post every day. But, if that same EC visitor comes by two or three days in a row and sees that same title, that second or third time it might finally intrigue them to read on.
I’m no pro, you can take my words with a grain of salt if you like, this is just my opinion. You’ve definitely encouraged me to take my time a little more often to read what’s happening in the world of Shalampax.
Rock on’ and keep writing!
@Frye: Thanks for your advice. We do try to publish everyday, but our posts are usually fairly short because just about everyone in Shalampax suffers from ADD, so we usually can’t hold a thought long enough to write a long post.
It is hard turning out something every day, but having seven Shalampaxian authors helps. As editor, I do have to whip the other authors mercilessly to get them to pull their weight, but I enjoy that sort of thing.
hello this is my first time to be here
but in regards with blogging and writing
i must say that you should not stop
if you love sharing your ideas and thoughts than i think you have to continue what you are doing
i love to put you in my blogroll so i can visit you here often
have a great day and thanks for dropping by as well in my site hope to see you there soon
i’m here, I read…just don’t comment sometimes, I will try to be a better blog reader.
@bluedreamer: Thanks for sharing your thoughts. OK. I guess we’ll continue.
@staciesmadness: Just knowing you’re here is enough. Although, if you want to send cash, that would be appreciated too.
I’m an avid reader but I’m really shy so I don’t leave comments. I love reading about Shampalax and I sit here grinning (believe me, I’m laughing WITH you, not AT you).
@Janet: I’m glad you enjoy it. Thanks for overcoming your shyness long enough to let us know you’re out there and laughing with us. Trust me, there is no reason to feel shy around Shalampaxians. We try to avoid being too judgmental because we don’t come out very well when others judge us. And at your age I’m sure that you have a lot of interesting experiences that you could share with the rest of us. (I just checked out your Blogger profile page. It says you are 253. Congratulations!)
I’ve been lurking around reading and enjoying stuff. If I were to have one suggestion, you might consider interviewing the newsmakers, leaders and the elite of Shalampax.
