Old Adage

We have an old, respected, much cherished adage here in Shalampax. It has been lovingly passed from generation to generation without alteration.

When spoken among Shalampaxians, this adage never fails to bring a grin of waggish amusement and a nod of recognized wisdom. For the life of me, I can’t remember what the hell it is—not a word of it—but I’ll share the adage with you if I ever remember it in the future.

Yeah, I don’t remember it either, but I live by it, because if I didn’t I would probably be living near the ocean, which I’m not.

@Doctor Faustroll: We live on a very small island and, therefore, are surrounded by the ocean. There’s something to be said for living by the sea, but I can’t remember what it is.

Funny thing is I still have my life vest, I think, but I can’t remember where I put it.

@Doctor Faustroll: Sorry. I can’t help you there. We like to live life on the edge. We don’t have life vests. Of course, there’s not a lot of call for them here because we spend most of our lives on the couch, watching television.
