Excess Energy

This notice is intended solely for Shalampaxians. Everyone else is welcome to leave and do something productive and/or entertaining for a change.

If you’ve bothered to look out the window you are, no doubt, aware that we have experienced a considerably above normal—considerably above normal for Shalampax, and that’s saying a lot—number of lightning strikes. On average, approximately 52 lightning bolts have struck the roof of our building every hour for the past 48 hours. This compares to our usual average of just four per hour.

As a result of this extraordinary electrical activity, the capacitors and batteries that store the electricity collected by our rooftop lightning collectors are near capacity. The capacitors and batteries are the primary source of the electricity distributed through our building-wide electrical grid.
