A Celebration of Nothing
Today is the fifty-seventh anniversary of the first time we celebrated this day in Shalampax. We’ve been celebrating it ever since we started using calendars.
We have not given this day of the year any special name. We don’t celebrate anything or anyone in particular, nor do we stage any distinctive festivities today. And we aren’t expected to eat any special foods or wear any specific color of clothes on this day each year.
Today is not an official workplace holiday. Then again, Shalampaxians rarely need an official reason to call in absent.
Happy day to you all!

In my long and undistingueshed professional career, I have made liberal use of “calling in absent” myself and found it to be quite effective.
Happy Nothing Day! I raise a tasty glass of chilled chardonnay in a toast to Shalampax.
I guess that spelling error proves just how undistinguished my career was.
This sounds like a typical day for me. *sigh* I really should get out more.
@David: Happy Nothing Day back at you. And don’t worry about the spelling mistake. I didn’t notice it until you mentioned it.
@MadMadMargo: From what I’ve been reading, it sounds as though Birdinhand would be interested in helping you to get out more, but the distance between you two probably makes that impossible.
