@MadMadMargo: I hope you had a great time in your travels.

I'm sure Marie will be thrilled to hear about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. And that provides another important piece of information. The way scientists define whether different individuals are part of the same species is if those individuals can mate and produce viable offspring. You are the offspring of a Shalampaxian and a non-Shalampaxain, so that is evidence that Shalampaxians are, indeed, a member of the Homo sapiens sapiens species. If you followed the adventures of Openfly and Dr. Don Rivers you'll know that there was some question about that.

However, there is another qualifier in the scientific definition of species. That is that the offspring must also be fertile. Your grandchildren prove that. Thanks!

As to your visit with Marie, I don't have contact information for Marie, but I'll send you Openfly's email address. Openfly can put you in touch with Marie so you can set something up.

As to coming to Shalampax, the word I'm getting from my contacts in Parliament is that we should have a decision on your and Marie's visitor visas within hours.

Hello - I have been traveling the past several days and have not had access to a computer until today. I rushed in to read your latest report. Marie's reply is very touching and I so look forward to meeting her and spending the time to get to know her. I, too, have led an interesting life and can't wait to share this with my mother.

As you may not know, Marie also has 2 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren that will also want to meet her. It's quite possible that we all can come together during the holiday season for a reunion. We all love California. I think I would like to arrive several days before the rest of the family to have some one-on-one time with my mother.

As for traveling to Shalampax, I am willing to hold off on that trip for awhile. Marie and I have a lot of catching up to do before we can make such a trip.

Thank you, Stoneupnose.

@David: Yes, but that shouldn't be surprising. Apart from what is genetically-based, we are what we are in large part from what Marie taught us all those years ago.
