One Laptop Per Child

Recognizing that Shalampaxian children are deficient in a number of areas relative to children elsewhere in the world, and accepting the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), a number of Shalampaxian business leaders have gotten together to launch a One Laptop Per Child program here in Shalampax.
Organizations in other countries have attempted a similar program with the objective of producing a laptop priced under $100 so children everywhere can be given laptops. To-date, this goal has not been reached. The last time I checked, the primary One Laptop Per Child organization was distributing laptops for about $200 each. The price was not expected to drop below the $100 threshold until 2012.
