Lifelong Learning

Spiltmilk, a member of the Shalampax school board, must have a genetic defect because, unlike almost all other Shalampaxians,  she seems to take an interest in something sometimes. For example, she thinks that being a member of the school board obliges her to know something about education. Consequently, she occasionally reads articles on the topic.

Her recent reading has led her to believe that, in this fast-paced, high tech world, lifelong learning is important. As a result, she is demanding that the school board set up a committee with the following mandate:

  1. Find out what this “lifelong” thing is.
  2. Determine what grade-level should be learning about lifelong.
  3. Develop and teach a course about the subject of “lifelong,” whatever it may be, for the appropriate grade-level students.

HAHA Well, that’s nice. Looks like the School Board has some serious work to do from now on…:)

@Mr. Stupid: You obviously don’t know our school board. “Serious work” isn’t in their vocabulary. Actually, there isn’t much in their vocabulary. Except for Spiltmilk, I think they’re illiterate.

I knew I liked that Spiltmilk gal! What a progressive thinker!

@Patricia: I don’t know where she gets that from. I wonder if she somehow has some non-Shalampaxian blood in her.

Things described as lifelong are generally highly overrated and a royal pain de la arse.

@David: That’s what I figured, but only because I think most things are, as you so elegantly put it, a royal pain de la arse. The truth is I don’t know what this lifelong thing is.
