If a Blog Falls in the Forest …

As of the time of writing, no one had commented on this blog for a few days. This leads me to wonder, are we dropping all of these gems of brilliant prose on the Internet, but there’s no one there to read it? And, if a gem of a post is dropped on the Internet, but there’s no one there to read it, does it make a … whatever.

    Maybe, like me, you were having trouble with Entrecard over the last few days. Many of my visitors disappeared because my EC widget somehow disappeared–unbeknownst to me!

    Hello…ello….ello….ello!

    I’m out here, Joel…Joel…Joel…Joel…

    Are you there?

    I read somewhat regularly, but usually dont comment here. I usually just dont have anything to add to what has been posted.

    Also, keep in mind the rule of lurkers, 90-9-1…. 90% just lurk. 9% will comment from time to time, and 1% is what you should expect as your regular participants. (I think Im in the 9%). So, if you dont get comments, dont worry.

    My two cents.

    I also read but rarely comment. I just can’t come up with anything to say after you have said it. But I am here.

    @Patricia: You mean people love us only for our EC? Well, maybe love is too strong a word. You mean people tolerate us only for our EC? I thought everyone had us in their favorites/bookmarks and were avid readers. Ho hum. How depressing.

    @MadMadMargo: Hi! By the way, have you decided if you’re going to visit us? Us guys are eager to have a beautiful woman on this island.

    @nonamedufus: Joel? Who’s that?

  9. February 13th, 2010 at 21:35 | #9

    @aldon @ orient lodge: It’s nice to know you’re here. Unfortunately, by that rule we have about 10 to 20 readers, tops.

    @Birdinhand: You can’t come up with anything to say after we’ve have said it? You’re obviously not a regular and/or careful reader of Shalampax Speaks. I can’t remember the last time anyone here said anything worthwhile, so it’s easy to add to and improve on anything we say.

    @Birdinhand
    Well, things are pretty hectic right now. I am in the process of moving to California to help Marie with her resort. She’s getting along in age and often finds it difficult to handle the day-to-day of the utopia she has created. My plan is to help her as much as possible. More later…..

    @MadMadMargo: I’m sure Marie will take great joy in having you there. Write when you can.

    I had a few days away from my handy-dandy computer thingy thanks to a bout of stomach flu that helped me become very well acquainted with my bathroom so I would read but wasn’t commenting.

    @David: I’m glad you’re back and I hope you’re feeling better. Some would say that the bathroom is the perfect place to read Shalampax Speaks because we publish only crap here.
