School Opening Delayed

The teachers of the Shalampax School have asked me to let parents know that the start of the school term will be delayed by at least two weeks this year.

After careful study and analysis, the teachers and their psychiatrists have determined that the teachers couldn’t possibly be mentally ready to face those little brats again when the school term normally starts. The teachers’ mental states will be reexamined in two weeks. At that time, an announcement of a further delay to the start of the school year will be made if necessary.

In anticipation of parents’ desperate hunt for childcare services to accommodate this delay in the start of the school term, the owner Shalampax Hardware Store notes that she has a large supply of chains and padlocks in stock.

I can’t imagine what it would be like to be a teacher these days, what with the pundits always criticizing their usefulness being overpaid public employees compared to private employees.

Teaching was already hard enough with out the likes of Mike Shedlock coming down hard on them almost weekly.

I hope Shalampax would respect teachers more than the United States does.

Cut the little brats some slack. It’s still summer. It’s too soon for them to be fobbed off on teachers for another year. Besides, teachers’ double shipment of extra strength Advil hasn’t arrived yet.

@Gary Anderson: We probably don’t respect our teachers any more than the people of the United States respect theirs. Teachers are among the more respected of people in Shalampax, but we greatly disrespect everybody, so that’s not saying much.

@nonamedufus: Do the teachers in your country use extra strength Advil? I don’t know what our teachers use, but I’m pretty sure it’s not Advil of any strength. I’m reasonable certain that whatever it is that our teachers use, it’s probably a banned substance in your country.
