Parliament Closure Extended

The Parliament of Shalampax was supposed to reopen today, February 2, 2010, after its one-month shutdown for National Democracy Month and the subsequent one-day extension to compensate parliamentarians for already being off on Anson Jones Day. That was what was supposed to happen, but the reopening of Parliament has been postponed.

Totally out of character for him, Manexposinghimself, Prime Minister of Shalampax, read some news while on his extended vacation. He stumbled on an article reporting that, on December 30, 2009, the Prime Minister of Canada, Stephen Harper, shut down or, in the parliamentary vernacular, prorogued the Canadian Parliament until March 3, 2010.

Chattering Class

Wow! Spiltmilk, a member of the Shalampax school board, just can’t stop reading and can’t stop coming up with new ideas to advance the state of education in Shalampax. Somebody put a leash on her! Who needs that?

As you’ll recall, I recently reported on her proposal to teach lifelong, whatever that subject may be, in Shalampax. Well, only days after pushing that proposal, she read that Canada now has a very large chattering class that is recognized by a cabinet minister in Canada’s federal government. Not wanting to fall behind a country comprised of mainly ice and slow, Spiltmilk has emailed education authorities in Canada asking them if they would be willing to send her their curriculum for the chattering class.

Canadian Web Pharmacies

There are a number of Web sites out there that purport to represent Canadian pharmacies selling low-cost prescription medicines. These sites offer to ship their goods around the world, but their primary market is the United States, where pharmaceuticals are, in most cases, considerably more expensive than in Canada.

It has not been determined whether any Shalampaxians have placed orders through these Web sites. An investigation is ongoing.
